Mark Haas, CEO, The Helmsman Group

Mark Haas is currently CEO of The Helmsman Group. Together Helmsman and Mark have been helping natural and organic companies grow for the last 25 years. Providing leadership to high-growth brands as well as founding his contract manufacturing plant, Mark provides experienced insight and strategies to bring CPG Brands to their fullest potential.
The Helmsman Group focuses on Product Innovation, Commercialization, and Activation. Helmsman’s core objective is to accelerate high potential food brands in trending categories, including snacks, beverages, plant-based proteins, and free-from. Helmsman is a hands-on agency engaged as an outsourced turn-key agency managing the product cash cycle (Forecasting-Production-Sourcing and Buying-Sales-Fulfillment-Collections).
Mark supports organizations that empower the global organic and natural foods industry. Currently, Mark is providing leadership to Ruckus and Co. Mondelēz SnackFutures latest entry; 88 Acres, a free-from healthy snack start-up; Nai World, a line of iced teas positioned as a better-for-you premium beverage alternative o sugary drinks for the Middle East and North Africa. Mark is committed to nurturing the next generation of food industry leaders through his work with both Christie & Co’s Gang of Good as well as the Education Research Institute, a non-profit affiliate of the Food North West.
Mark’s education includes the following: BS, Oceanography, from the University of Washington; Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management, Weber State University; and Supply Chain Operations, Broad School of Business, Michigan State University.
Chief Science and Regulatory Officer, Sloan Trends
Catherine partners with Elizabeth Sloan and Sloan Trends to create business strategy advice for Fortune 500 businesses in the food and dietary supplement categories. Sloan Trends examines consumer trends using unique predictive tools to identify emerging mega markets. They help businesses better understand the market and differentiate long-term business opportunities from short-term trends. Catherine compliments the trend analysis with in-depth investigations of the science behind the issues and regulatory considerations.
Catherine owns and operates a working horse and cattle ranch in Texas, where she raises Quarter Horses and registered Angus cattle. She competes in cutting horse competitions and owns Thoroughbred race horses. The ranch uses wind energy.
